We started raising puppies the summer of 1993 by buying out a small kennel of about 20 dogs. After teaching for some 25 years, and loving it, I had stumbled upon something totally different that brought me as much joy, and possibly more, than teaching had. Needing to fill an upcoming void in my life that my soon to be grown daughters were going to create, I started looking for something to baby and take care of. At this point in time, my husband was seriously thinking that I had lost my mind, but did promise to support me in my new endeavor.
Shuffling time between students and puppies was a task, to say the least. Finally, in the spring of 99, being eligible for retirement, I seized the opportunity to stay home and take care of puppies. Now, ten years later, I can truly say that I have seen time fly. This has to indicate that I am enjoying what I am doing.
Our younger daughter, Melissa, a stay-at-home mom, has been right by my side thru it all. Larry, my biker husband, is now retired also and will do any of the dirty work for a free day to ride his Harley. My older daughter, Julie, is following in my first footsteps, that of an educator. She does step up when needed and does her share.
My family, my life. Enjoy the pictures and you will see that I am truly blessed.
